Community Measurement News & Information
New! CMS Publishes New Data The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has engaged MN Community Measurement (MNCM) in a pilot project to explore and test methods that could work nationally to collect and share quality of health care information with Medicare Fee-for-Service (FFS) enrollees about the quality of ambulatory care. In early 2007, MNCM began receiving data files with Minnesota Medicare FFS patients and services they had received. By combining these FFS data with the Managed Care dataset, MNCM calculated rates at the medical group level for the following measures: Breast Cancer Screening, Diabetes HbA1c Test, Diabetes Nephropathy Test, Diabetes Eye Exam Rate, and Diabetes LDL Test Rate. 2008 MN Community Measurement Forum Connecting the Dots: Does Reporting for Results Matter? On April 16-17, 2008, MN Community Measurement convened its second annual measurement forum. The forum was held at Windows on Minnesota in downtown Minneapolis and attended by over 180 healthcare professionals from around the state and beyond. The program included a half-day of workshops followed by a full-day of forum presentations. Featured speakers included Lois Quam, managing director at Piper Jaffray and Janet Corrigan, president and CEO of the National Quality Forum, in addition to a variety of workshop leaders, session presenters, and a final panel discussion.
